- Trouble shoot customer concern. Ran diagnostic trouble codes. Verified codes p0300 for multiple misfire detected. Technician verified cylinder 7 and 8 misfire on live data. Verified spark to both cylinders. Tested ignition coils, spark plugs, and ignition wires good. Performed compression tested and verified good. Removed intake to perform manual activation test on Engine valve lifter oil manifold for DOD system. Verified Cylinder #7 stuck open. Removed valve covers and verified all push rods opening and closing valves. Removed rocker arms and verified Cylinder #8 spring broken. Re installed all parts. Installed new cylinder deactivation valve lifter oil manifold. Installed new intake manifold gasket, exhaust gasket, valve cover gasket, oil filter and oil. Used 5w30 synthetic oil. Road tested and verified customer concern did not return.
